Before joining Environmental Advocates, Anne Reynolds was an Associate Scientist at Tellus Institute, a non-profit energy and environmental research organization in Boston. During her years at Tellus, Anne conducted policy research projects on a wide range environmental issues, including watershed management, waste incinerator emissions monitoring, pollution prevention policy, public participation in environmental decision-making, and urban environmental justice. Anne spent four years as an Environmental Scientist in the Water Management Division of the U.S. EPA Region II in NYC. While at EPA, Anne served as Regional Stormwater Coordinator, wrote NPDES discharge permits, audited sewage treatment plants, and worked on EPA's Pollution Prevention Workgroup. Anne has a B.S. in Biology and Environmental Studies from Tufts University. She also has a Masters of Environmental Studies from Yale University School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, where her studies focused on industrial environmental management.

Anne's enthusiasm for environmental protection is matched by her love of travel and the outdoors. She has studied hazardous waste management in Sweden, water pollution by maquiladoras at the U.S-Mexican border, and taught a course on water pollution policy in Bulgaria. She traveled across the U.S. - slowly! - by bicycle and was inspired by our country’s wealth of natural resources and incredibly helpful and giving people. Most recently, Anne walked 460 miles on the Appalachian Trail, from Springer Mountain in Georgia to Damascus, Virginia. The trip was challenging, stinky, and a vivid reminder of why she chose a career in environmental protection. So while its hard to spend the day indoors at the office - knowing the beauty and value of the outdoors makes it worth it.
